The City of Port Angeles passes resolution in support of May Bike Everywhere Month

The City of Port Angeles joins the Bicycle Advisory Committee of Port Angeles and Clallam County in promoting Bike Everywhere Month during the month of May.

On March 20, 2018, the City Council passed a resolution in support of Bike Everywhere Month, to be celebrated in May 2018. In the spirit of that resolution, the City joins numerous other businesses and organizations in the promotion and development of bicycle-related events to take place almost daily throughout the month of May.

The City is encouraging community participation by supporting local bike-related businesses, events, and non-government organizations. In addition to the many planned activities, the City will hold a Planning Commission Meeting on Wednesday, May 9, from 5:30pm to 7:00pm, in the Vern Burton Meeting Rooms, 308 E. 4th Street, to obtain public input on how the City can best serve cyclists in our local community.
As a Bronze-level Bicycle Friendly Community recognized by the League of American Bicyclists, the City is working to improve local bicycle activities, amenities, and routes with the goal of attaining Gold level or higher. City efforts include capital improvements on 10th Street, Race Street, and along the route of the Olympic Discovery Trail. The City is dedicated to ensuring accessibility throughout its jurisdiction for all modes of transportation.

The City would like to thank all the businesses and volunteers who are stepping up to take part in this important month-long community event.
