COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER APPOINTED
June 1, 2007 - The City of Port Angeles is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Romberg as the new Communications Manager for Pen Com.

Steve Romberg, Communications ManagerRomberg was born in Port Townsend and graduated from high school in Lynnwood. He moved to Port Angeles to study law enforcement at Peninsula College.

Always wanting to be a police officer, Romberg started his career as a Clallam County Reserve Deputy Sheriff in 1978 and in 1980 served as a corrections officer in the Clallam County Jail. In 1981 he transferred to dispatch and then served as a sheriff deputy until 1983.

His family moved to the Palm Springs area where he served as a security officer until 1986. Realizing that dispatch was his true passion and wanting to move closer to home, Romberg first worked as a dispatcher for Snohomish County for two years before coming back to Port Angeles.

Steve Romberg has been a dispatcher with the City of Port Angeles since 1988. He was promoted to Supervisor in 1998.

"Steve's positive attitude, commitment and easy going manner of working with employees shone above the rest of a very competitive pool of candidates," commented City Manager Mark Madsen.

Steve and his wife Kim have been married for 25 years and have two children.

Congratulations!
