Posted July 21, 2010 - Sealed bids will be received by the Director of Public Works & Utilities at 321 East Fifth Street, P. O. Box 1150, Port Angeles, Washington 98362, until 2:00 pm, August 11, 2010, and not later, and will then and there be opened and publicly read at that time in the Jack Pittis Conference Room for the construction of the following improvements:

Landslide repair, including construction and removal of a temporary access road to the toe of the slide; excavation of a keyway at the toe, construction of the quarry spall rock fill; installation of 123 linear feet of 12-inch pipe; and 142 linear feet of 18-inch HDPE storm drainage with gabion energy dissipater at the toe of the steep slope.
The time of completion (performance period) for this Project is 30 working days.

DRY CREEK BRIDGE & TRAIL PROJECT – PHASE 2 BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
PROJECT NO. 05-31
Sealed bids will be received by the Director of Public Works & Utilities at 321 East Fifth Street, P. O. Box 1150, Port Angeles, Washington 98362, until 2:00 pm, August 9, 2010, and not later, and will then and there be opened and publicly read at that time in the Public Works Conference Room for the construction of the following improvements:

The project will install a two span, pre-manufactured trail bridge on Milwaukee Drive at Dry Creek in the City of Port Angeles . The pre-manufactured bridge spans will be provided by the City and are not part of this contract.

This work includes construction of two bridge abutments and a center span pier, assembly of two pre-manufactured bridge sections and pipe hangers, placement of the two assembled bridge sections, constructing a reinforced concrete bridge surface, furnishing and hanging four pipe conduits under the bridge, construction of bridge approaches, and extending the conduit to points of connection, excavation, embankment, gravel paving, drainage, erosion control, and other work, all in accordance with the Contract Provisions and Plans.

The City Engineer's estimate for this project is between $200,000 and $300,000.

ADVANCED METERING INFRASTRUCTURE SYSTEM
The City of Port Angeles, Washington is requesting letters of interest and a supporting Technical Proposal and Service Charge Proposal from qualified Vendors for an Advanced Metering Infrastructure System.

The anticipated services include the following general elements:

 

. Replacing the City's residential and commercial electric and water meters with advanced metering equipment in two phases;

. Installation of demand response and distribution automation equipment;

. Installation of a 2-way communications system; and

. Integration of the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) System into the City's customer information system and meter reading interface system.

 

A pre-proposal conference was scheduled for May 21, 2010, at 10:00 AM in the Port Angeles City Hall engineering conference room. Each Vendor must execute the Non-Disclosure Agreement, have it notarized, and deliver it to the City at or before the pre-proposal conference. Appointments to survey City sites may be scheduled after the pre-proposal conference.

COMMUNICATIONS PLAN for ADVANCED METERING INFRASTRUCTURE SYSTEM
The City of Port Angeles, Washington is requesting letters of interest and a supporting proposal from qualified Consultants for a Communications Plan for the City's Advanced Metering Infrastructure System.

The anticipated professional services include an assessment of communications plans carried out by other utilities, preparing a communications plan for the City's Advanced Metering Infrastructure System, presentation of the Consultant's recommendations, and a final report.

This seminar offered information to local contractors, consultants and suppliers to explain the proper procedures to be considered for providing services such as:
