Overview
From time to time, the City Council appoints local citizens and professional experts to advisory committees established to prepare a plan and/or recommendations on a particular planning issue.
Examples of such committees include a Comprehensive Plan Citizen Advisory Committee, Code Technical Advisory Committee, and a Shoreline Master Program Advisory Committee. The Council also appoints individuals to represent the City of Port Angeles on a various committees initiated by other public entities.
City residents who are interested in volunteering to serve on a board, commission, or committee can apply through the City Clerk's Office.
Most of the boards, commissions, and citizen committees meet in the evening during the week and once or twice a month. Technical advisory committees are more likely to meet in the daytime during the week.
