Choose Local Campaign - What Goes Around. . .
When you purchase from locally owned businesses, more money re-circulates in the Port Angeles community. Local businesses often purchase from other local businesses, service providers, and farms. On average, for every $100 spent at a locally owned business, up to $70 stays in the local economy, creating jobs and expanding the city's tax base.
Choose Local PA is a local initiative created by the Port Angeles Forward Committee at the behest of the Port Angeles City Council. Its aim is to educate residents as to why their support of the local business community is a direct benefit to the community as a whole and to the individuals who live here.
Why Choose Local?
There are thousands of Buy Local campaigns nationally, many of which were studied by Port Angeles Forward. This grassroots effort was renamed Choose Local in recognition that customers have choices and that needs to be respected. The aim is to make a clear and vocal case for the benefits of supporting local enterprise, whether it's retail, manufacturing, or services. The hope is that the program will develop over time and prove effective in helping to bring greater prosperity to our region.
If you have questions, thoughts, or concerns, visit the Choose Local website or email the Choose Local committee.
