The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly impacted our community and created a financial burden on many businesses and residents. In response to these impacts in March of 2020 the Governor issued Proclamation 20-23, preventing the disconnection of utilities for non-payment. This moratorium is scheduled to end September 30, 2021 and customers will be responsible for all current and past due charges at that time.
In light of this, the City is committed to working with customers to provide options for payment of utility balances, including the waiver of interest on accounts through December 2021 and payment plans. Additionally, we would like to provide information for a number of other agencies offering assistance for utility, rental and mortgage relief at this time. If you need assistance, we encourage you to contact our local assistance agencies as soon as possible as some funds are first-come, first-served.
