[ARCHIVED] We want to hear from you!

Clean Energy

Washington State requires consumer-owned utilities to complete a Clean Energy Implementation Plan (CEIP) by January 1, 2022.

The Plan describes our Utility’s compliance with the Washington State Clean Energy Transformation Act (CETA)’s requirements over the next four years. It also includes information on progress towards the 2030 greenhouse gas-neutral and 2045 greenhouse gas-free standards.

The good news: Port Angeles currently meets (and exceeds) the CETA requirement of using 80% or greater combined renewable and non-emitting resources through 2030.

Now we need your help to complete the Plan requirement, as Port Angeles must identify the following through a public process:

  • vulnerable populations who may be affected by the costs and benefits of adopting CETA standards, and
  • indicators of costs and benefits incurred through the adoption of CETA standards.

If you would like to fill out our CETA CEIP Survey, please Download the attached word document fill it out, and email to The Public Works Department at the City of PA, by January 3, 2022.

The City’s CEIP was reviewed at the December 21, 2021, City Council meeting and will be voted on at the January 4, 2022, City Council meeting.

If approved, it will be submitted to the State of Washington shortly thereafter.
