Erickson Playfield Pump Track construction to begin April 18, 2022

Pump Track

The Parks & Recreation Department and the Lincoln Park BMX Association are excited to begin work on the Erickson Playfield Pump Track Project. Construction will begin at the park, located at 302 South Race Street, on Monday, April 18, 2022. Construction fencing is being installed today, April 15th. The worksite will remain closed to the public until the project’s completion, expected late June 2022.

Park amenities, including the Dream Playground, tennis courts, skate park, calisthenics park, covered picnic area and restrooms will remain open during this time.

What is a Pump Track?

A pump track is a rolling series of looping paths that offer a fun way for kids and adults to build bicycle skills in a contained environment away from traffic. It’s enjoyable for all levels of riders! No special equipment is needed – just a bike, scooter, or skateboard and helmet.

The Erickson Playfield Pump Track will be ADA accessible, designed for both manual and electrical wheelchairs, and other adaptive devices.

We can’t wait for the community to enjoy this exciting and inclusive new facility!
