Dave Arand was sworn in as a Sergeant today by Chief Smith. Sergeant Arand was selected to provide leadership for the Blue Patrol Squad after the retirement of Sergeant Tom Kuch. Sergeant Arand and his squad will alternate with Sergeant Kevin Miller's Red Squad to provide 24/7/365 patrol coverage for the City.
Most recently Dave was the Corporal in the Detective Division where he investigated major cases and provided leadership in that division when the Sergeant was absent. Prior to spending several years in detectives Dave was a patrol officer beginning his PAPD career in 2003. Before that he worked at the Clallam Bay Corrections Center. Dave has a Bachelor's Degree from Eastern Washington University.
