[ARCHIVED] 01/24/22 What happened Sunday morning in Port Angeles?

PAPD Police Blotter 2

On Sunday, January 23, 2022 at about 11:15 AM Officer Zac Moore and other Port Angeles Police Officers responded to a report of an incident at a grocery store near 3rd and Lincoln. The investigation indicated that a male suspect stole a purse from a victim's shopping cart and ran from the store. The victim, a 79 year old woman, followed the suspect in an effort to prevent her purse from being taken away. The suspect got into a car waiting in the lot. The victim was standing between the open door of the car and a suspect seated in the car trying to get her purse back when an accomplice drove the car in reverse, which caused the victim to be knocked down, and drug by the door of the car. The suspects fled in the vehicle.
The victim was transported to Olympic Medical Center with substantial injuries. Several witnesses were helpful in identifying the suspects. PAPD encourages anyone with additional information about this case to call 452-4545 and provide information to Officer Jackson VanDusen or any available officer. Further, PAPD encourages the suspects to peacefully present themselves for arrest.
