On Saturday, January 22, 2022 at about 3:00 AM Officers responded to a report of an assault on the Olympic Discovery Trail near the north end of Ennis Street. Officers located a victim with a serious laceration on his face who had been struck with an unknown blunt weapon by a suspect known to the victim.
Later that same day at about 6:30 PM Officers located the suspect at Jesse Webster Park. The Officers observed the suspect holding a knife cutting some type of rope near the clubhouse. The suspect attempted to flee on foot and tossed the knife away. Also during the suspect's efforts to avoid arrest he tossed a bottle of vodka that he also had. The suspect was arrested by Corporal Sean Ryan, Officer Luke Brown, and Officer Kyle Buchanan after a brief struggle, and booked into the jail.
The prosecutor is reviewing the case.
