CASE UPDATE: A felony arrest warrant for Robbery 1 has been issued for Mason Archer-Barrett, 27, of Sequim in relation to this incident. Anyone with information as to Archer-Barret's whereabouts is asked to call dispatch at 360-452-4545 to speak to an Officer.

EDIT: Archer-Barrett was released from Harborview Hospital where he was receiving medical attention following this incident. Due to HIPAA restrictions, law enforcement was only able to access limited information as far as his medical care and status at Harborview therefore we were not notified upon his release. It is not uncommon in these situations for an arrest warrant to be issued for the subject to be taken into custody at a later time.

Michelle Madona Osborn, age 37, of Port Angeles has also been charged as an Accomplice to Attempted Robbery 1. She remains in custody in the Clallam County Jail.

WHAT HAPPENED SATURDAY MORNING IN PORT ANGELES?

On Saturday, March 5, 2022, at about 6:53 AM Officer Harold Balderson and Officer Nate Clark responded to an Attempted Robbery in the 2400 block of West Highway 101. Additional details included that a masked male suspect armed with what appeared to be a handgun (and who was in the company of a female accomplice) demanded cash from the occupants of a motorhome that was parked behind the business. However, one of the intended victims was armed with a 22 magnum mini revolver and told the would be robber to drop his gun.

When the suspect began to raise his gun, the intended victim shot the suspect once in the face. The suspects fled in their car.

At about 7:02 AM dispatch received notification of a patient in the emergency room with a gunshot wound to the mouth. The patient was subsequently flown to Harborview in Seattle.

At about 7:10 AM a Clallam County Sheriff's Deputy located the suspect vehicle behind a hotel near First and Vine. Detective Swift Sanchez and Detective Ron Cameron responded to continue the follow-up investigation. The female suspect jumped out of a hotel room window and attempted to flee, but was quickly detained. She was booked into jail as an accomplice to the attempted robbery. The investigation is ongoing and carried out in conjunction with the prosecutor.
