WHAT HAPPENED SUNDAY IN PORT ANGELES?
On Sunday, June 12, 2022 Port Angeles Police Officers, in the photos below, responded to a report of a Strongarm Robbery that occurred near First and Albert at about 1:00 AM. The investigation revealed that a woman was walking her dog when she was attacked by two robbers, who strangled her, hit her head against a wall, threatened to kill her, and forcefully stole her dog from her. The victim reported having trouble breathing and losing consciousness during the incident.
Officers located the suspects at the tree park shortly after receiving the report and arrested them. However, the dog had already been given to another person. During the investigation the officers learned that there had been unfounded rumors that the dog owner had been treating the dog poorly. Officers are continuing to work toward reuniting the dog, whose name is Scarlet, with her rightful owner. The prosecutor is reviewing the case.
