[ARCHIVED] Port Angeles to Host BMX Gold Cup Finals September 16-18, 2022

Parks And Rec

Port Angeles Parks & Recreation and the Lincoln Park BMX Association, in conjunction with USA BMX, will host the 2022 DK Northwest Gold Cup Finals on September 16-18, 2022. The competition, held at the Lincoln Park BMX Track, will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday and include participants of all ages. Both event parking and spectator entry are free. Food will be available onsite for purchase.

The three-day competition is expected to bring 1,500 riders to the track and up to 5,000 visitors to the Port Angeles area.

The success of other local events, including the Big Hurt, Northwest Cup, North Olympic Discovery Marathon, and Ride the Hurricane, and that of the Lincoln Park BMX Association, has paved the way for this event to be held locally. “Currently, the BMX Track is rated #1 of 11 in Washington State, #4 of 116 in the western region, and #8 of 305 in North America,” says Lincoln Park BMX Track Operator Sean Coleman.

Corey Delikat, Parks and Recreation Director states, “I speak for both the City and Lincoln Park BMX when I say that we are honored to host this exciting event and look forward to seeing over one thousand participants, including many of our own local racers, at the BMX track this September.”
