June 1, 2023 Project Update
The following dates have been added to the closure schedule listed below:
June 1 - June 2, 2023: The detour will be put back in place beginning approximately 7 p.m. on Thursday evening through 5:00 a.m. on Friday morning. Water service interruptions will occur beginning at 5 p.m. this evening through 5 a.m. tomorrow morning (Friday, June 2nd).
Please note: these times are an estimate. As with all construction work, delays are a possibility, but every effort will be made to complete the work within the state timeframe.
Short-Term Street Closure
As part of the ongoing Race Street Improvement Project, a portion of Race Street will be temporarily closed to thru traffic beginning May 30, 2023. The work is scheduled to begin at approximately 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30th and expected to be complete by 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 1st.
Location
Race Street will be closed from 8th Street to 10th Street. Local access will be provided to residents during this closure.
Closure Schedule
May 30, 2023: A detour route will be in place from approximately 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Work in this area includes preparation for a water main replacement. Water utility will not be affected on this day.
May 31 - June 1, 2023: The detour will be put back in place beginning approximately 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening through 5:30 a.m. on Thursday morning. Work in this area includes the replacement of an aging water main. Water utility will be affected during this work.
What can travelers expect?
Please use caution and allow yourself extra time if traveling near or through the construction area. Residents should drive slowly, be on the alert, and follow directions given by Traffic Control personnel and signage.
Planned Water Outage
A planned water outage is scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, May 31st, from approximately 7 p.m. through 5:30 a.m. on Thursday. This outage will affect 33 homes in the area of the work. Interwest Constructions Inc. will deliver notices to the affected residents.
Update: An additional water service outage will occur on Thursday, June 1st, at approximately 5 p.m. through Friday, June 2nd, at 5 a.m.
