Juneteenth is a national holiday commemorating June 19, 1865, when news of the Emancipation Proclamation finally reached Galveston, Texas. Today, we celebrate Juneteenth to commemorate that freedom, reflect upon our nation's progress and act upon the work that still needs to be done. The City of Port Angeles is committed to serving a diverse municipal population. We pledge to continue to support actions that dismantle systemic inequality, confront hate, and promote inclusivity for all.
In observance of Juneteenth, City Hall and City facilities, including the Regional Transfer Station, will be closed on Monday, June 19th. Garbage and Recycling Collection will remain on regular schedule. If you have an outage or utility emergency while offices are closed, please call (360) 417-4726.
As always, emergency services remain fully operational.
