The City of Port Angeles will conduct routine inspections of the 8th Street Bridges and the Tumwater Bridge on Friday, September 1, 2023. The work, which will be a moving operation, is expected to begin at the 8th and Valley Street Bridge at 9 a.m. and conclude at the Tumwater Bridge at 5 p.m.
Under-Bridge-Inspection-Truck (UBIT) inspections occur every two years to ensure they are in good working order and to help prioritize maintenance and preservation work.
Temporary traffic control will be in place while these inspections are underway. Measures include reduced alternating one-lane traffic with flaggers onsite. Please use caution when driving or walking near the inspection areas and follow instructions provided by traffic control personnel.
