Spring is here and the last phase of road work on W 10th St is tentatively scheduled to begin in early April. Construction will occur between I St and N St and includes a final layer of asphalt, roadside restoration, and pavement markings. Paving is now planned for April 2nd through 5th.
Expect delays. During construction, W 10th Street between I and N Streets will be closed to through traffic. M Street will be closed north of 10th Street. Local residents will be directed through the construction site by flaggers.
Here are the details:
Where: W 10th Street, between I Street and N Street.
When: Beginning Monday April 1st, with work complete by the end of April.
Funding: This is the first use of local Transportation Benefit District (TBD) sales tax funding, which was approved by voters in August 2017. The 10th Street Improvement project was accelerated with the recent availability of the Washington State Transportation Improvement Board grant funding.
Our goal is to complete the project with as little inconvenience as possible while keeping safety of the public, pedestrians and motorists a top priority. Use alternate routes and watch for trucks entering and leaving N Street and I Street. Please remember, slow down for safety, and observe the posted 20 mph speed limit.
