PARKS & RECREATION MONTH – DAY OF PLAY
The Parks & Recreation Department takes great pride in being a facilitator of recreation in our community. To celebrate the partnerships and collaborations the City has within the community, we are celebrating National Parks & Recreation Month (July) with the second annual “Day of Play” event.
This event will take place on Saturday, July 27, and will include a number of activities hosted by various organizations throughout Port Angeles. Entities participating in the event include the Port Angeles Yacht Club, Feiro Marine Life Center, PA Likes Bikes, Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, Port Angeles Disc Golf Association, Park View Villas, Port Angeles Public Library and the Port Angeles Senior Center. This year, we are expanding our partnerships through our newly created Passports to Fun! The goal for event-goers is to attend as many events as possible, filling their passports with stickers from each event. Those with the most stickers will be entered to win great prizes from local businesses, including Olympic Hiking Co., Adventures Through Kayaking, Port Angeles Lefties Baseball, Olympic National Park and Brown’s Outdoor.
Attached is a brochure with additional information regarding the “Day of Play.” We hope to see you at the many activities taking place – and try catching a “Day of Play” t-shirt at the Port Angeles Lefties vs. Redmond Dudes game on July 26!
