On November 20, 2018, Council agreed by consensus to direct staff to draft an ordinance to address potential conflicts with election nights. Ordinance 3627 amended section 2.04.010 of the Port Angeles Municipal Code to address meetings on election nights. By code, the regular meetings of the Council are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, beginning at 6:00 p.m. If the date of any future regular meeting of the City Council meeting in November falls on an election night, then per the proposed ordinance, the regular Council meeting will then be held on the Wednesday following election night.
