The Port Angeles Water Division will begin routine water main flushing on Tuesday, March 3. This work will take place system-wide over the next several weeks between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. (Monday through Friday).

Sensitive water users will be notified in advance prior to flushing in their area.

Water main flushing is an important part of maintaining water quality and ensures both hydrants and the water distribution system are operating properly.

What to Expect:

Water is safe to drink and use during the flushing process. However, you may experience brief periods of low water pressure, a slight discoloration and possible sediment in your water. 

If you experience discoloration, simply run cold water from a faucet for several minutes until the water runs clear. Avoid doing laundry during flushing hours, as discolored water may stain clothing.
